Car Offers a Ride After an E-Bike Crash—Should You Get in?

Hey, Johnny Joubert here. Quick question about e-bike crashes.

If a car hits you and the driver says, “Hop in—I’ll take you to the hospital,” should you get in… or wait for an ambulance?

My recommendation: don’t get into a stranger’s car

First: don’t get into the driver’s vehicle. You don’t know them, and the safest choice is to avoid unnecessary risk.

Call 911 first

Second: call 911. Even if you feel “okay,” injuries can be serious and not immediately obvious, such as:

  • Broken leg
  • Head injury
  • Back pain
  • Internal bleeding
  • Injuries you don’t notice right away

EMS can check for hidden injuries, control bleeding, and transport you safely.

It may take longer—but it’s usually safer

Yes, waiting for EMS can feel inconvenient. But with crashes, injuries can be worse than they look. Taking the safest route protects you now—and later.
