After an E-Bike Crash in Louisiana: Should You Move Your Bike?

If a car hits you and you and your bike are down on the ground, a lot of people wonder: Should you move the bike or leave everything as is for evidence?

Don’t get run over twice

First—your safety comes before evidence. An e-bike crash is already dangerous. But the next danger is traffic.

If the car and your bike can be safely moved, get out of the roadway immediately so you don’t get hit again by oncoming cars or other bikes.

Evidence still matters—just don’t risk your life

You might be thinking, “Won’t moving the bike hurt the case?” Usually, evidence can still be gathered in other ways (photos, witness statements, vehicle location, traffic patterns, and more). But nothing replaces the importance of getting yourself to safety.
